With a medication prescription from our doctors, you can fill it at any pharmacy in Ontario! 

• It is highly recommended to fill all or your prescriptions from the same pharmacy. This allows your pharmacist to better understand your needs, identify potential adverse reactions, catch dosage mistakes, and recommend simplified, cheaper, or better therapy options! 

Bloodwork / Urine Sample / ECG Test:

• Once your doctor has given you a requisition for the required test, you can visit any laboratory in Ontario! We recommend searching up your nearest LifeLabs or Dynacare location as they send your results directly to our electronic record system, which is faster and more secure than fax or mailed results.

• You can submit your requisitions online by contacting LifeLabs here or uploading it to Dynacare here.

Imaging:

• Once a doctor has given you a requisition for imaging (i.e. x-rays, mammograms, ultrasounds, etc.), you do NOT need to visit the location indicated on the form - you can visit any imaging centre in Ontario excluding hospitals.  

• Some tests will be arranged directly with specific sites or hospitals (i.e. MRIs and CT scans). In this case, you would not have received a requisition form from the doctor. The site will notify you directly once they have scheduled an appointment, or you will hear from us about any appointment notices we have received.

When visiting a lab or imaging location:

• Please remember to bring your OHIP card with you. 

• Most labs and tests (i.e x-rays) do not require an appointment, but we recommend calling ahead to confirm for your specific test and their walk in availability.

• For all prescription RENEWALS, please have your pharmacy fax in the request to us at 416-342-1790. 

• If your doctor has specified that requests can be sent in online, please contact us through our Contact Form with your full name, medication, and name of family doctor.

​Newly Pregnant / Prenatal Care

We have family physicians who practice low risk obstetrics at St. Joseph’s Health Centre. For more information, click here 

Our physicians can also provide prenatal care and/or referrals to Obstetricians. Book an appointment here 

​Newborn Baby

Before you leave the hospital, you will receive discharge papers and information on the first check-up, which is usually within 2-3 days of leaving the hospital.

Please note we require at least one parent to be a current patient of Citrus to register your newborn baby with one of our physicians. Click here to check availability for a new family doctor.

If you already have one parent rostered, that family physician will automatically accept your newborn into their practice.

How To Register a Newborn with Citrus

Submit the discharge papers through our Contact Form and provide the following information below.

• Full name of Parent + name of Citrus Family doctor

• Full name (First + Last) of baby

• Date of Birth 

• Sex

• Health Card Number 

• Preferred phone number, email address, and mailing address 

• Next of Kin/emergency contact 

We will contact you in regards to getting your newborn booked for their initial visit! 

Pediatrics

We do not have any pediatricians accepting new patients at this time. However, your family doctor at Citrus can take on your newborn baby for primary care. For further details on how to add your baby to your family doctor's practice, please see above.
